Abdullah Deraz (عبد الله دراز، رحمه الله) mentioned at the beginning of his book The Great News (النبأ العظيم):
“No one writes a book except under one of seven categories, and it is impossible to write outside of them. They are:
- to invent something completely new that no one has written before,
- to complete something that was left unfinished,
- to explain something difficult or unclear,
- to shorten something long without losing its meaning,
- to organize something that is mixed up,
- to correct mistakes made by another writer,
- or to gather together something scattered.”
This wise principle was first stated by an Azhar scholar in the 17th century, and it has never lost its value. It continues to guide every writer who seeks a clear path.
That is why I started this website. It reflects two of those aspects: shortening long material without losing meaning, and organizing what is mixed up.
