- In English, “the” works for both masculine and feminine
- In Spanish, “el” is the “the” for masculine nouns

- Niño: Boy
- The little mark over the “ñ” is called a “tilde”
- ñ = ny
- Niño pronounced as Neen-yo.
- Niño is masculine, therefore we use the masculine article “el”
- “El Niño” = “The Boy”
