• el = The
  • In English, “the” works for both masculine and feminine
  • In Spanish, “el” is the “the” for masculine nouns

Lesson 4

• Niño: Boy
  • The little mark over the “ñ” is called a “tilde”
  • ñ = ny
  • Niño pronounced as Neen-yo.
  • Niño is masculine, therefore we use the masculine article “el”
  • “El Niño” = “The Boy”
