Kahlan septs emigrated from Yemen to dwell in the different parts of the Arabian Peninsula prior to the Great Flood (Sail Al-‘Arim of Ma’rib Dam).	هاجَرَتْ قبائِلُ كَهْلانَ مِنَ اليَمَنِ لِتَسْكُنَ في أَجْزاءٍ مُخْتَلِفَةٍ مِنَ الجَزيرَةِ العَرَبِيَّةِ قَبْلَ الطُّوفانِ العَظيمِ (سَيْلِ العَرِمِ سَدِّ مَأرِبَ).
This was due to the failure of trade under the Roman pressure and domain on both sea and land trade routes following the Roman occupation of Egypt and Syria.	وَكانَ ذَلِكَ بِسَبَبِ تَراجُعِ التِّجارَةِ تَحْتَ ضَغْطِ الرُّومانِ وسَيْطَرَتِهِمْ عَلى طُرُقِ التِّجارَةِ البَحْرِيَّةِ وَالبَرِّيَّةِ بَعْدَ احْتِلالِهِمْ مِصْرَ وَسُورِيَّةَ.
Naturally enough, the competition between Kahlan and Himyar led to the evacuation of the first and the settlement of the second in Yemen.	ومِنَ الطَّبيعِيِّ أَنَّ التَّنافُسَ بَيْنَ كَهْلانَ وَحِمْيَرَ أَدَّى إِلى رَحيلِ الأُولى وَاسْتِقْرارِ الثَّانِيَةِ في اليَمَنِ.
