سَمِعْتُ مِنْ شَيْخٍ فاضِلٍ - الدكتور أحمد إسماعيل، حفظه الله - مُحاضَرَةً عَنْ فَضْلِ الصَّلاةِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَالإِكْثارِ مِنْها. وَمِنَ الدُّرُوسِ العَمَلِيَّةِ الَّتِي خَرَجْتُ بِها: أَنْ أُكْثِرَ مِنَ الصَّلاةِ عَلَيْهِ بِأَقْصَرِ صِيغَةٍ، مِثْلَ:** (اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد)**، حَتَّى يَعْتادَ لِسانِي وَتَقْوَى عِنْدِي مَلَكَةُ الذِّكْرِ.
ثُمَّ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ أُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ بِالصِّيغَةِ الأَفْضَلِ، وَهِيَ الصِّيغَةُ الإِبْراهِيمِيَّةُ الَّتِي نَقُولُها فِي التَّشَهُّدِ:
”اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَما صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْراهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْراهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، اللَّهُمَّ بارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَما بارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْراهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْراهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ.“
فَاللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ عَدَدَ خَلْقِكَ، وَرِضا نَفْسِكَ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِكَ، وَمِدادَ كَلِماتِكَ.
English
I listened to a lecture by a virtuous sheikh - Dr. Ahmad Ismail, may Allah preserve him - about the virtue of sending prayers upon the Prophet ﷺ and doing it often. One of the practical lessons I took from it is to frequently say a short form, such as: “O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad,اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد” until my tongue becomes used to it and my habit of remembrance grows stronger.
Then after that, I send prayers upon him using the best form, which is the Abrahamic صيغة (formula) that we say in the tashahhud:
“O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, just as You sent prayers upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, just as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.”
”اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَما صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْراهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْراهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، اللَّهُمَّ بارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَما بارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْراهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْراهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ.“
