O Lord, forgive and have mercy,
And mercifully overlook what You know of us.
Guide us to the straightest path,
And make us beloved through the Greatest Prophet.
Indeed, You are the Most Mighty, the Most Generous.

The imam recites this supplication at the end of the Friday sermon. O Allah… how deeply I love these words.

“And mercifully overlook what You know…”

Overlook what You know of our sins, our weakness, our shortcomings, and the things hidden from everyone except You.

Āmīn. Āmīn. Āmīn.

O Allah, send Your prayers, peace, and blessings upon Muhammad.
